WHAT'S IT ALL MEAN?

Did you ever have one of those days when you just
have to do a drawing of a weird guy, a skull, a bird,
and the word crank. I know I have. Peace!

THE PHANTOM

I always loved the comic strip The Phantom by Lee Falk.
This is a drawing of that character I did quite awhile ago during my
Bruce Timm meets Simon Bisley faze. I still like it pretty well.
I hope you dig it!

WOLVERINE

Here's a sketch I did this weekend at the Phoenix Comic-Con.
It's a little bit 'o' Wolverine goodness.
Have a great week and thanks for watching!

PHOENIX CACTUS-CON (jan. 23-25)

If you're a fan of Todd McFarlane, Darth Vader, or me, come to the Phoenix Cactus-Con this weekend. We'll all be guests at the show.  A bunch of other awesome comics and media guests will be there as well. The artwork for this post is by my buddy Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, he's also a guest.  Look for him, he'll be the best artist in the room!

LONGNECK BATMAN

Here's a drawing I did recently with markers and whiteout on cardboard.
Dave johnson works the hell out of this technique at conventions and I thought it might be fun to try it. I was correct, a great time was had by me. I'll be doing more of these when I get a spare minute!
For anyone who's interested, this is one of five pieces i have up on ebay this week.
To see the auction go HERE.

DEADPOOL

This is what a ride to, and from, the airport in Dallas will get you.
Many thanks to my buddy Andy Korn! I hope you guys dig it!

THE CROSS BRONX

File this under comics that might have been. A couple of years ago Mike Oeming and Ivan Brandon made an excellent horror/crime comic called THE CROSS BRONX. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. It's a very cool story, and some of Oemings best cartooning to date.
A few years before the book came out, Mike had approached me about drawing it. I was interested, but for various reasons I didn't draw the book, and I'm glad I didn't. It was clear to me from the start that Mike Oeming had a much greater emotional attachment to the story than I did. I probably would have done a passable job, but I'm sure I couldn't have brought the kind of visceral intensity to the book that Mike did when he finally drew it himself. Above is the one piece of art I generated for the project. I liked it at the time I did it. Now all I see are the flaws in my work. My marginal work aside, check out  THE CROSS BRONX.  It's great!

SUPERNATURAL

Here's a piece i did as a tryout for
Wildstorms comic of the TV show Supernatural.
I guess the shows producers didn't like my work,
but i thought it turned out okay.
Someday Hollywood will love me,
but by that time i'll be dating some other
entertainment capitol!

SCRATCHY DARK KNIGHT

A tip of the hat to Bill Sienkewicz.
This is me trying to learn something through imitation.
I learned that it's really fun to draw like this!
Stay strong people!

OLD MAN LOGAN

Here's a quick little drawing i did the other day. this is my version of Millar and McNivens OLD MAN LOGAN. My drawing probably owes more to Clint Eastwoods' film UNFORGIVEN than anything else.
For any one who is interested, this drawing and four other pieces are currently for sale on EBAY. This is my first attempt to sell anything via Ebay , so I'm assuming that by next week I'll be a trillionaire! HA! Below are the links to the auctions. Thanks for looking.

IT'S 2009- LET'S CRANK THIS DANG THANG UP AGAIN!

To anyone who has followed my blog, (all three of you) I apologize for the long dry spell.
I am gonna attempt to be more punctual in 2009.
For starters, here's a pinup i did for my buddy Shannon Dentons' book GRAVESLINGER.
The trade should be out shortly from IDW.
My best wishes to all who read this for a prosperous and fruitful year.
It's back to the grind in "OH NINE' !!!
